“Where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law (Proverbs 29:18 ESV).” The SCMi™ vision is the place where the founder’s ministry, vocation, profession, and life purpose converges to the Glory of God.
VISION STATEMENT:
SCMi™ envisions a Kingdom-building, ‘without walls‘, practical ministry serving in the global marketplace. . . caring for, admonishing, restoring and empowering people through our unique synergy of services such that they may be well of mind, body and spirit and such that souls may prosper to the glory of God according to His word and His will.
MISSION STATEMENT:
The mission of SCMi™ is to proclaim the gospel, in word and in deed, within and beyond the four walls of the church such that leaders will be equipped, people will be edified, lives will be changed, the hurting will be healed and souls will be saved by grace through faith.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you. . . (Matthew 28:19-20)”
“And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace who bring glad tidings of good things (Romans10:15)!”
CORE VALUES:
Our values are the important principles and beliefs that undergird and guide our organization as we seek to accomplish our God-given vision and mission.
Faith – Vital to our ministry is our faith in God – One Lord (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), one faith (unified by the Body of Christ) and one baptism (Holy). We value the Scriptures and all that is declared in the Bible (Old and New Testaments) as the foundation, final authority and ultimate model for consoling the troubled, comforting the distressed, bringing wholeness, spiritual maturity and for faithful living. We discipline ourselves to study it diligently, apply it daily and teach its truth to others (cf. Ephesians 4:4-6).
Personal Relationship with God – We value a personal relationship with God, received by grace through faith, made available through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ as Lord of our life and Savior of our soul (cf. 1 Peter 3:15).
Family – We value the family (both biological and spiritual) because God created the family central to His will as the building block for communityand society. We recognize family as God’s plan for marriage between a husband and a wife, as the foundation for parenthood and as one of His primary methods of discipleship for teaching us to love God, love others and to serve one another (cf. Genesis 1:27-28). Even Christ was born within the context of a family. It was within the nurturing care of His earthly family that “Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men” (Luke 2:52). We believe that family is to reflect God’s character and walk in covenant, love, respect and unity.
Unity of the Church – We value the Church as the expression of the universal body of Christ, the essentiality of church for every believer, 5-Fold Ministry and we encourage people of all denominations to work together in fulfilling the Great Commission and Great Commandment, helping people to grow in their faith in God, love for God, love for mankind and to experience life as genuine expression of worship (cf. Ephesians 4:11-13).
Servant Leadership – We value servant-leadership, the pattern of leadership exemplified by Jesus Christ, as a way of life and foundation for Christian ministry; strive to embody it and teach it in our ministry; and give our time, talent, treasure, and spiritual gifts in service to God and one another (cf. Matthew 20:28, 1 Peter 4:10).
Prayer, Praise and Worship – We value both personal and corporate prayer, praise and worship. . .communicating our praise, confession, thanksgiving, and making our requests known to God through continual prayer (cf. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, 2 Timothy 1:3); sincerely praising God for His many folds of blessings (cf. Exodus 15:2, 1 Chronicles 16:25, Hebrews 13:15); and authentically worshipping God for Who He Is (cf. John 4:23-24, 1 Chronicles 16:29).
Evangelism and Missions – We value the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ to world (cf Matthew 28:19-20) and believe that effective ministry must have an evangelistic impact beginning in our communities (cf. Acts 1:8).
Discipleship, Edification and Equipping – We value and are committed to disciple-making and expository teaching, striving to live our lives in ways that reflect the life and spirit of Christ and offering the Good News of God’s love to all in word and deed (cf Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Stewardship– We value personal and organizational stewardship including Christ-centered corporate governance, fostering resilience in business and ministry, and responsibly sustaining the earth, its environment and its resources (cf. 1 Corinthians 4:1-2, Matthew 25:15, Psalms, 24.1, Genesis 1:26).
Prophet, Priest and King – We value the fact that nearly all of God’s major initiatives, recorded in the Scriptures, had the ministries of Prophets, Priests and Kings working together. The Kingdom-building work of our Lord Jesus Christ was carried out through the principal offices of Prophet, Priest and King. It is in the spirit of this model of kingdom-building that SCMi™ will forge covenant relationships with local churches, strategic alliances with other organizations, and work together with government leaders to render much needed services in support of our commitment to the local church and to community, as well as lessening the burden of government, as God uses us to proclaim the gospel and advance the Kingdom of God around the world (cf. 1 Corinthians 12:28, 1 Peter 2:9, Revelation 1:6).
Holistic Ministry– We value holistic health and spiritual care; as Jesus did as recorded in the Gospels, in the laws of the Old Testament and teaching of the prophets, with concern for spiritual, physiological/social and mental/emotional health and wholeness as an expression of well-being in Christ (cf 3 John 1:2, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Romans 12:1).
Life Application of the Scriptures – We value practical application of the Word of God in every aspect of life and living (cf. 2 Timothy 3:16).
Truth, Integrity and Respect – We value the revelations of truth revealed in the living word of God; are committed to integrity through personal and organizational accountability in lifestyle, relationships, finances and ministry; and treat everyone with gentleness, dignity and respect (cf. Proverbs 22:1, John 8:31-32, I Peter 3:15).
Diversity, Community and Fellowship – We value cultural diversity and the uniquesness of God’s creation; embrace biblical community on a local, national and international basis; and building significant relationships that foster fellowship, spiritual development and support through Christian love (cf. Acts 17:26-28, Acts 2:42,44-46, 1 Corinthians 12:12-30, John 13:34-35, Galatians 6:2)
Excellence in Ministry – We value dedication to excellence in all God calls us to do, as exemplified by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (cf Colossians 3:23-24), as well as excellence in the use of our spiritual gifts and God-given talents (cf. I Corinthians 12:4-11, Romans 11:29).
OUR ETHOS:
Greek ēthos: the distinguishing character, sentiment, moral nature, or guiding beliefs . . . (definition from Merriam-Webster Dictionary)
Our purpose (fulfilling the Great Commandment and the Great Commission) while taking ministry beyond the four walls of the church (through practical ministry in the marketplace) captures the essence of our corporate ethos (cf . Matthew 22:26, Matthew 28:19-20). We affirm the priesthood of all believers and call on 5-Fold Ministry Leaders to equip, encourage and empower men, women and youth to fulfill their calling as witnesses and co-laborers in the worldwide task of evangelism.
OUR PASSION:
Caring for souls through Practical Ministry. . .we believe that effective Christian ministry must be carried out in relevant ways. The Apostle Paul said “…I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some (I Corinthians 9:22).
